Si Miao (Muse Miao) began meditating in 2013, but more than ten years later, in early 2024, he was diagnosed with anxiety and depression symptoms.
Even with a decade of practice and a history of profound spiritual experiences, meditation hadn’t “protected” him the way he expected.
His doctor chose not to label it a disorder but prescribed medication, which he tried briefly. Deep down, he sensed the real solution would have to come from within.
Determined to face the challenge directly, he committed to a two-hour meditation, sitting with the inner darkness instead of resisting it. That turning point sparked a profound shift.
Shortly after, he rediscovered Unified Mindfulness. Though he had first encountered Shinzen Young’s work years earlier, immersing fully in the system opened the door to lasting growth and healing.
He views mindfulness in three dimensions:
A purification process—allowing suppressed experiences to surface and be released.
A way of living—letting go and practicing acceptance in daily life.
A practice—cultivated moment by moment.
Since 2015, Muse has also been deeply studying the works of David R. Hawkins and A Course in Miracles, which continue to shape his understanding of surrender, acceptance, and intrinsic wholeness.
With over seven years of professional experience as an architect, and time living in the U.S. (six years) and Japan (two years), he now resides in China.
His cross-cultural journey and experience in the demanding professional world give him a grounded understanding of modern life’s challenges.
He is passionate about helping people integrate mindfulness into hectic daily routines—finding inner peace and balance without overcompensation or escapism.
The 8-Week Unified Mindfulness course transformed his life. He is honored to share it with others who are ready to experience its power.
