Mindfulness Coach

Chris has been practicing mindfulness for 30 years. He has trained in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh and through 5 years at the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies and Insight Meditation Society. He ran Turtle Path Mindfulness Practice Center out of his house in Massachusetts for 5 years. He was ordained in the Order of Interbeing in Plum Village, France in 2000.

Chris has been following the teachings of Shinzen Young since 1998. He plunged into Shinzen’s Unified Mindfulness systematic approach in 2015 and found that it lit his vipassana practice on fire.

He has run a wildlife sanctuary for the Massachusetts Audubon Society, and 2 community supported microfarms.

Chris has a strong interest in contemplative prayer and loves to create small interfaith practice sharing communities with a format that he calls “Stillness & Presence.”

These days Chris lives in Rochester NY where he does a lot of gardening, birding and butterflying, leads one day retreats and workshops, offers two weekly classes on Unified Mindfulness, and works with several dozen people as a mindfulness coach.
