MS Education – Science
MS Wildlands Ecology
Outdoor Educator
American Sailing Association Certified Sailing Instructor

Rose studied closely with Shinzen Young and has practiced his rich and flexible system of mindfulness for 24 years. For 15 years, she’s been a facilitator of Shinzen’s system at his retreats and has taught this system and related practices in a variety of venues, indoors and outdoors to people of all ages and experience levels.

Rose came to Shinzen’s meditation system looking for tools to help her deal with depression and anxiety. She noticed her relationship to these emotions change over time so that when they arose, at times they dissolved into pleasurable flow sensations. It is her passion to bring Unified Mindfulness to others with similar issues. Her other passion is to draw upon her professional experience as both a wildlands ecologist, naturalist and sailing instructor to bring her mindfulness teaching outdoors.

Rose has attended and been certified in many meditation workshops including one called First Do No Harm, led by neuroscientists and mindfulness practitioners in which the focus was how to apply mindful interventions for people with trauma. Other certifications and courses include Life Coaching, and Mindfulness in Race relations.

Having a master’s degree in education, Rose draws upon this unique skill set to co-create individualized mindfulness programs for each person or group she works with in order to best serve their particular needs and interests.

Rose is a fun, creative, and knowledgeable mindfulness facilitator who loves to bring humor, adventure, and compassion to her interactions with her students to keep the practice interesting and effective. Please contact her at [email protected] if you have any questions, comments, or requests.
